Lan honen xede nagusia da hizkuntza-irakasleek eta ikasleek ikaskuntza kooperatiboari buruzko xehetasun garrantzitsuen gaineko gogoeta egitea. Horretarako, ikaskuntza kooperatiboaren aurrekariak azaldu ondoren (historia, kultur tradizioetan dituen sustraiak, oinarri teorikoak eta zenbait ikerlan), oinarrian dauden zortzi printzipioak azaltzen dira hasierako ataletan. Indarrean jartzeko jarraibideak eta aholku praktikoak eskaintzen dira gero; halaber, honelako ikaskuntzaren ebaluazioari ere erreparatzen zaio.
