Ez dira sei idazle, hiru baizik, oraingo liburuki honetan. Hirurak oso ezagunak eta oso biziak gaurko euskal kulturgintzan. Koldo Mitxelena ez da, munduan zehar eta gure artean oso ezaguna den hizkuntzarali hori bakarrik; aspalditxotiko euskal kulturaren abiadura hausnartzen eta bere gogoetaren fruitua ematen saiatu den gizona dugu. Mila artikulu eta libururen artean bi hauek aukeratu dituzte aztertzaileek. Mitxelenaren pentsakera agertzeko eta kritikatzeko: idazlan hautatuak eta zenbait hitzaldi. Larresoro dugu, bere bizitzaren barne-barnetik, euskararen eta euskal kulturgintzaren gaurko egoera eta joerak kezka bizienez bizi dituzten horietako bat. Eta bizi ezezik, zorrotz aztertu eta astindu ere egiten dituena. Beronen hizkuntza eta Pentsakera eta Branca aldizkarian emaniko artikulu bat edo beste hartu ditu oinarri bezala autoreak azterketarako. Gabriel Aresti, poeta eta idazle paradojiko eta eskandalizatzailetzat jotzen du zenbaitek. Eta autoreak ez du titulu hori ukatu nahi.
